Glory Sighting at Salem UMC

I thought I would share one of the wonderful, continued activities we have here in our ministry at Salem UMC in Pikeville.  We get together and make blankets for our local Judi’s Place for Kids once a quarter.  You will notice from the pictures, the ladies lead the ministry, but the youth get involved as well.  We have given them ten blankets this year so far.  Judi’s Place for Kids is an Eastern Kentucky Regional Center where they take children that have been abused, and they go through counseling,  and the Kentucky State Police do their investigation, but the children have a friendly setting such as brightly painted rooms, toys, blankets, etc. so it’s not so scary.  They also are checked by physicians as well.  They tell us the children can feel the love when they hand them one of the blankets. We pray over them before they’re taken to the center.  I’ve attached a few pictures from our last event last week.  It’s a wonderful way to fellowship with each other, and letting the Light of Christ shine through to our community.
